Description

Specially designed for the Cake Designthe laser-cut structure, entirely made of stainless steel approved for food contact, is very resistant. Reusable, it will be your best ally to fascinate your customers!

This structure of only 350g will offer you a stability to support easily the weight of the last stage of your cake of 10cm of diameter and which will be able to go until 1,3Kg without bending. Its finishing, namely its weldings and the polishing of the coating, are particularly well worked and will allow you to cover the bottom tray with sugar paste* without defect.

Madl Créations, a renowned cake designer in Belgium, has designed and thought about this product for the Cake Design and as part of our partnership with her, Planete Gateau has had it custom made.

Advice for use There are several ways to integrate this structure in your cake and here is one of them:

  1. If your structure support base is a false floor (dummies), place your structure on it and fix it with royal icing. Cover the whole (dummies and bottom tray) with sugar paste.
  2. If your base is a real 15cm cake, insert 4 pillars dowel and ganache it. The ganache also serves as glue for the structure. Cover the whole with sugar paste.
  3. For the top tier, if you don't want the bottom of the small stainless steel tray to be visible, cover it with thin sugar paste on both sides of the tray. Glue the last top tier (10cm diameter) with royal icing and cover with sugar paste*.
  4. And to hide the foot that will make the visual effect of levitation, you can cover it with sugar paste and surround it with flowers or other objects corresponding to the theme of your cake.

*There are several ways to cover the whole thing with sugar paste ("American style" or the "French style") but, if your floor is edible, it is important to consider how your host will have to proceed to access the cake to serve it to guests.

Good to know:

  • As with all food contact stainless steel, the material cannot rust even when in constant contact with wet materials. Nevertheless, we strongly advise you to store the structure in a dry place, always wrapping it with a plastic film or any other hermetic bag protecting it from the air. Indeed, with the permanent contact of the air and with time, the surface can be covered with a dark dull layer and let you think that it rusts... which is of course not possible with this material. In this case, if it bothers you visually, you could just rub it off.
  • The base of the structure is engraved with the Logos of PLANETE GATEAU and MADL Creations to symbolize the partnership. This tray is, in any case, intended to be covered with sugar paste
  • Can be cleaned with soap and water and can be washed in a dishwasher.
