This TYLOSE powder (CMC) of the brand Funcakes is used to harden the sugar dough and transform it into modeling paste . The tylose gum (tylo powder) added to the sugar dough makes it possible to create a quick version of gumpaste (or modelling paste), ideal for making figurines, sugar flowers, figures that have to stand up on a cake ... Tylose is a fine powder that can be easily incorporated into the sugar paste. It does not alter the colour of your dough.
Directions for use : 1 teaspoon of tylo ( 3 grams ) for 250 grams of sugar dough. Knead the dough and let it rest for 2 hours in an airtight package. This dosage is given as an indication, the amount of tylose needed depends on the temperature and humidity of your room.
Be careful, if too much CMC is added to the sugar dough, the mixture will become crumbly. If this happens, add a little CRISCO vegetable fat, to make the dough supple again
Tip: You can also make food glue yourself by mixing 1 unit of tylose powder with 30 units of water. Leave it to stand overnight. Home-made glue is less durable.
