TYLOSE powder (CMC) is used to harden the sugar paste and transform it into modelling paste. The tylose gum (tylo powder) added to the sugar paste allows to create a fast version of gumpaste (or modelling paste), ideal for making figurines, sugar flowers, numbers that must stand on a cake..... Tylose is a fine powder that is very easily incorporated into sugar paste. It does not alter the colour of your dough.
Directions for use: 1 teaspoon of tylo for 250 grams of sugar paste. Knead the dough and let it rest for 2 hours, in an airtight package. This dosage is given as an indication, the amount of tylosis required depends on the temperature and humidity of your room.
Be careful, if too much CMC is added to the sugar dough, the mixture will become brittle. If this happens, a little CRISCO vegetable fat should be added to restore flexibility to the dough
Tip: You can also make edible glue yourself, by mixing 1/4cc of tylose with 2cs of water. Let it rest for one night. Homemade glue will not last as long.
