Usage Tips:
1. Mix your icing (royal icing, buttercream etc). Align the stencil on the sides of the cake (and cut off the excess edge if necessary) for alignment or center on top.
2. Holding the stencil in place is the trickiest part. You have several options:
a) an extra pair of hands to hold it for you;
b ) use dressmaker's pins to hold it in place. The stencil should be flush with the surface of the cake so that the icing does not penetrate below the stencil.
3. Start by spreading your icing from the center outward with a spatula.
4. Slowly remove the stencil. If you have "stained" sections, use a toothpick to gently scrape off the excess. Let dry and continue around the cake.
